Southern Sweden has a large demand for energy and a production deficit. Price area SE4, where the park is, is one of the two areas in Sweden with the highest demand for power and the highest prices.
Vida buys the power through the utility Bixia under a long-term fixed-price agreement, a PPA. Bixia and Vida have worked together on power trading since 2014.
Vida is looking into letting sheep graze in the park in summer. The panels give shade that makes the grass more nutritious.
Since September 2024 the park’s output can be switched off for short periods when there is too much power in the grid.
Powering our production with solar power is an important step in our climate work.
Every park is unique, but they share one goal: large-scale renewable power for the Nordics.
